What is boudoir art?
Well, again defining art would only mean reducing it to just penning down it in words. But for the sake of understanding and making a broad boundary of rules to later break them, I'll try mentioning how is it all about.
Boudoir art form is derived from painting, more specifically, from nude art painting. To have a little idea about what boudoir art is, understanding nude art paintings are important. What is the thought process of the person creating it is important.
When a painter decides to create nude art paintings, his thought process would firstly initiate from what he's feeling. He can be sad, jovial, calm, cold, revenging, deeply moved by an incident or an event or an issue, may feel sexy, may feel the broader sense of life which are more than just bodily remains. Human emotions are a hell complex things to convey.
Next, he would make up his mind and try to come up with many ideas of how to portray his feelings, and in each of these ideas, he would imply his creative conscience to portray as close as his feels. Now, imagine the vast thought process involved behind creating a single piece and sorting out many 100s of other ideas and their processed creative consciences.
Finally, he would choose one and head towards physically portraying his mind. The most challenging part is to create exactly how he visioned his thoughts to be, and for this he processes, thinks and re-thinks and replays the whole process numerous times, adding little details and strokes with every cycle.
On the final venue and day of the execution of vision that he built in his mind, collecting and recalling the whole processed thoughts, their linked ideas and the added details would require time, patience and peace of mind.
This whole thought process and subsequent execution leads to what you see or glimpse for mere few seconds and judge. You miss the whole point of understanding and reading between the lines of what it is trying to decipher that the painter riddled in it, you miss the whole dearth of his vision he used to create that.
Although the above description is written under the context of how an nude art painter thinks and creates. This is what exactly a boudoir art photographer does, obviously one who really understands that and efforts enough to create it. And this is one of the many insidious traits of artists who, rather than straightforwardly tell you somethings, riddle you up and expect the on-looker to sit, watch, stare, think, process, decipher and at the end most importantly feel.
What is boudoir art?
Many, many people struggle to understand the nuances of the fine differences between these three forms of art. As a consequence they often end up stereotyping and rather denigrating these art forms simply due to their inability to sort out the confusions.
I would, from my numerous experiences with newer and newer people whom I often engage with, see this as the result of lack of ability of oneself to sort out his feelings. Reading these art forms are no wonder very arbitrary and highly subjective, but failure to compartmentalize, in general characteristic of one's life, constricts the perspective of people to merely branding these arts as "a naked female standing or sitting or lying" or more harshly as simply "porn".
Well, I would, yet again try to broadly describe, the differences in feelings that these art forms burst in me when I create, process, and execute these. And I sincerely expect that the audience should reciprocate.
Firstly, what is erotic art form?
It is closest to the description which most people stereotype, but yet very far. These art forms, very simplistically speaking, attempts to arouse sexual tinge in the audience. These have this as their major role. Apart from sole purpose of arousal, these art forms have tend to show the intimidation a woman can fire, the sexual tension she can create, how wanting she can be, and mostly feeling connected loosely with a women trying to seduce the viewer.
These forms essentially lack sheer blacks and whites but have feminine and intimidating colors like magenta, pink, red and much in darker and smoother tones. They often explicitly show the body parts and exposed privates and although they are creatively hidden but artistically quite revealing.
Next, the boudoir art form, which is slightly different from erotic art forms.
Boudoir art describes something hiding behind a veil. The veil can be piece of cloth, shining light from the background, or and endless list of experimental objects. It is an form of implied nude where the implications more often than not peek over the corner to actually reveal the body parts.
Here the creator wants the viewer to feel the beauty of the shapes. The shape of human body, the curves, the crevices, the cuts and the imperfections. He uses lights and shadows to aid the focus anything in particular. It does not aim to incite sexual feeling in the audience neither does it very exclusively portray deeper thoughts and larger message.
They mostly have blacks and whites as their base color. A very distinctive feature of these forms of art is they often have some form of shadows or silhouettes from the veils and lights.
And finally, the most misinterpreted of 'em all, nude art form.

Very prominently, nude arts are generally not anonymous like the above two art forms. These forms of art try to portray a deeper message depicting life in general or characteristics of a person or something about society or mother nature or...... the list goes on and on.
Here, the subject is essentially completely nude which significantly distinguishes it from boudoir and nude art forms. Another feature that is distinguishing is the sheer confidence in nudity portrayed by the subject. Unlike the other two forms where there is some amount of elegance and classy shyness in nudity, nude art forms are outright raw on your face.
They mostly are seen in hues of incandescent or sunlight or black and white, but in comparison, these works are not as contrast-y as the other two. Soft and uniform light with subdued shadows differentiates these from boudoir works.
What does my art mean to me?
Amidst this cacophony and blaring flashy tick-tokers,
Amidst this era of alacritous pleasure of heroic slow-motion,
Amidst this self-sexual objectification of their bodies,

Lie my works,
for which not one visits,
for which not one patiently awaits,
to stop, sit, relax, and stare, and a little longer,
to think, rethink and feel the wonders calmness create
to not just in mine but yours mind too.

Amidst this hyper-kinetic millennials,
Lie my works of art,
that aren't perfect but meaningful,
Amidst this crowd of live and instant chat,
Lie my works of art,
that aren't glamorous but peaceful,
Amidst this content of say-it all,
Lie my works of art,
that aren't so loud but decipherable for all.
